20 Steps to the Best Christmas EVER!
I have learned how to enjoy the holidays season. Here is how!
- Say Happy Holidays – it covers all the holidays that happen during this time. I believe in Jesus Christ! I don’t have to push the Merry Christmas thing. Let’s get over that.
- Don’t put up a tree. What does a tree have to do with Jesus?
- Don’t decorate. What do decorations have to do with Jesus? Put up a nativity scene and place baby Jesus in it on his probable birthday.
- Don’t bake cookies. What does that have to do with Jesus? Sugar causes illnesses.
- Don’t send out cards. I LOVE getting pictures of everyone. Please send them, but it doesn’t have to be at Christmas. I even like just seeing them on facebook.
- Don’t over schedule your time. You have 365 1/4 days each year. So many concerts, Christmas programs, dinner parties, office parties and well… you get it.
- Don’t buy gifts. It’s not OUR birthday. Make birthdays special for each individual. Christmas is about Christ. Just be together. Your full presence is the present.
- Don’t overspend. You won’t do that if you give up those ideas I’m talking about.
- Buy a candle or scent that you like and share it throughout the house during the season. You, your family and friends will love it.
- Find your favorite music to listen to and play it throughout the season.
- Find your favorite movies and watch them with family and friends.
- Go to church programs that teach the reason for the season.
- Read from the Bible each day as a family.
- Show kindness by doing a nice deed for each member of your family.
- Tell everyone how much you love them.
- Clean out some coats, blankets and clothing to give to the needy.
- Work in a soup kitchen for a day.
- Go to a nursing home or hospital and share your joy.
- Help someone that is struggling during this time of the year.
- Provide a place for gathering to those that have no family.
If you follow my crazy way to celebrate this Christmas Season, I know you will be happier, healthier, less stressed, more loving! You will be full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Continuing to do the rest, well, think about it, it only feeds the flesh. Try to enjoy this holiday in simpleness. Blessings to you all! ~Sandy
